Odis Dale Ulmer, 76, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. He was born March 30, 1942 in Heidelberg, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs. Burial will follow in the Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Keith Ulmer and Bro. Clay Smith will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

Mr. Ulmer retired after 38 years from Masonite Corporation as a Master Millwright, where he was known as "Big O". Odis Dale was an avid deer hunter and devoted his time to the encouragement of his children and grandchildren in this sport. He led by example by being a faithful husband, father, grandfather, servant of the Lord, and a life-long member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Lula Bell Ulmer; his brother, Billy Gerald Ulmer and brother-in-law, Mitchell Stringer.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Robbie Ulmer; his sons, Allen Ulmer (Becky) and Keith Ulmer (Lori); his daughter, Shannon Roberts (Terry); his sisters, Bonnie Price (Tommy) and Betty Stringer; his eight grandchildren, Calah Ulmer, Bryce Ulmer (Eryn), Cassidy Brown (Kris), Tyler Ulmer, Joshua Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Ariel Roberts, and Arin Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Brycen Pittman, Jaycee Ulmer, and Jayke Ulmer.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Ulmer, Tyler Ulmer, Joshua Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Brycen Pittman, Jayke Ulmer, and Kris Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Stringer, Tim Upton, Tommy Price, Joe Stringer, and Cooper Stringer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Douglas Wolfe, Dr. Keith Lay, Jr., Becky Ulmer, RN, Pam Fail, NP, and the staff of Jasper County Nursing Home for the care given while a resident at the facility. Life-time friends have been gained. In addition, the support of our loving family and friends during this journey has been greatly appreciated.
