Obituary

Ollie Jean Dedeaux Garner, 86, of Gulfport, MS died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. She was born Sunday, June 14, 1931 in Raleigh, MS.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh in Raleigh. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh in Raleigh, MS. Burial will follow in North Raleigh Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. Dr. Keith Gordon and Rev. Gabe Bobbett will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements. (601)782-4544

Ms. Garner was a Smith County native and a former resident of Raleigh. She was a member of Raleigh First Baptist Church and was very active in the church and community. Upon moving to Gulfport she became a member of Bayou View Baptist Church. Ms. Garner owed and operated several businesses in Raleigh. She was the office manager for Dr. Sidney Dedeaux in Morton, MS. Prior to moving to Gulfport, she and her husband Clyde lived in Hattiesburg, where she worked at the University of Southern Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Martin, father, Sidwan James Dedeaux, mother, Ollie Dedeaux, brothers; O.W. 'Dub' Idom, Sidney James Dedeaux.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Garner, Gulfport, MS, daughters; Michelle Martin, Gulfport, MS, Regina Denton, Gulfport, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Kirkpatrick, Zack Mills, Scott Mills, Sidney Dedeaux, Charlie Crumpton, Bodie Crumpton.
