Onita Green Parker, 98, of Bay Springs, was carried to Heaven by angels on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs. She was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1925, in Jasper County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, beginning at 10:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, with funeral services at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Bay Springs City Cemetery in Bay Springs. Bro. Josh Chandler will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

She was a member of Stringer Baptist Church and a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, great-grandmother that always put others first. Her family knew that they were always so loved and blessed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W Parker; her son, Johnnie Lee Parker; her daughter, Patsy Ruth Simpson-Taylor; her parents William Jack Green and Alma Windham Green; her sons-in-law, Ralph Simpson, Billy Stringer and her brothers, Ezell Green, Thomas Marvin Green and Ozette Green.

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Stringer; son-in-law, Jim Taylor; her grandchildren, Deanna Simpson, Neil E Simpson (Christy), Lisa S. Dabney (Wes) and Lee W. Stringer (Lacie); and great grandchildren, Lucy Rivers Shelton, Parker Simpson, Dakota Lane Bankston, and Luke Winn Stringer.

Pallbearers will be Neil Simpson, Lane Bankston, Lee Stringer, Jim Taylor, Van Windham, and Bruce Windham.
