Pamela Zelma Gandy, 68, of Raleigh, MS passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, at the Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh MS. She was born on June 25th, 1956 in Raleigh, MS.
Visitation will be held at Colonial Chapel of Raleigh on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 PM funeral services to begin at 4:00 PM. Burial will follow at Double Church Cemetery in Raleigh. The service will be officiated by Bro. Derek Bruce and Bro. David Hays. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181
Pam worked at Raleigh Hospital and Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh in the Dietary departments. She loved all animals, always providing a loving home to any that she found. Pam loved visiting the elderly in her community at their homes. She would also volunteer many hours at the Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh doing activities with the residents. She loved thrifting and was always on the hunt for something unique for loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George "Mike" Gandy; father, Sylvester Herbert Thompson; mother, Gladys Thompson; father-in-law, Kent Bryant; mother-in-law, Billie Bryant; brother, Marcus "Bud" Thompson; sister, Inez Cannova (Carl); brothers-in-law, Billy Earl Gandy, and Henry Gilreath, and a special nephew, John Gandy.
Survivors include her daughter, Alicia Bounds (Donald Eric); son, Jeremy Gandy; brothers, Mickey Thompson (Undean) and Randy Thompson (Teresa); sisters, Glenda Gilreath, Gale Walin (Ken), and Becky Sanford (Louie); sisters-in-law, Ilene Hall, Reta Gandy, Frances McGrew(Andy), and Emily Culliver(Neil), special niece, Angela Gandy and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be Louie Sandford, Mark Thompson, Richard Gilbreath, James Massey, Eric Thompson and Patrick Hutchinson.
A thank you to Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh for the loving, dedicated care provided to our mother over the past 8 years. The family would like to acknowledge each CNA and nurse that provided care and comfort through the years. We wish we could list you all.
A speical thanks to Homecare Hospice for the excellent care of our mother.
