Patricia Walley

Patricia Ann Walley Hough, 82 of Raleigh, MS transitioned to her eternal home in heaven Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs surrounded by her family. Pat was born May 7, 1942 in Hurley, MS to Jett and Mabel Walley.
Pat is survived by her loving and caring husband, Dennis Ray Hough, son, Dennis D'Wayne Hough (Sherry), daughter, Dawn Denise Nelson (Tom), grandson, Hunter Gabriel Nelson and sister, Marcina Doze (Denton) along with many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her and remember her fondly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Jett Walley, mother, Mabel Magdeline Hamilton Walley, sister Etta Pauline Shaw and brother, Jett Toxey Walley.
Pat, Trish Ann as she was known to her Hurley family, attended Hurley Elementary School and graduated from Moss Point High before attending the University of Southern Mississippi. 60 years, 7 ½ months ago she married (as she said) the "love of my life". Together they had a life full of adventure. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to South America and then to Singapore before settling in Raleigh where she started her career as a teacher's assistant then went on to be the Director of Social Services for Smith County until her retirement in 2003. After retirement, she and Dennis Ray spent days enjoying each other's company and attending softball games for the Raleigh High School girls' team. Those girls' loved her as much as she did them. However, Pat's real passion in life was being the best daughter, sister, and wife and especially being Nana to Hunter. She loved Jesus and wanted to ensure that her family and friends knew Him too. Pat lived a life of example.
