Patsy Smith Mathis of Bay Springs, MS peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at her residence. Patsy was born on Sunday, July 6th , 1952, in Clarke County, Mississippi. Patsy graduated from Zach Huggins High School in Quitman, MS in 1970.

She attended JCJC where she met her husband, Randal. They had been married for 53 years.

Pat, as most people called her, first started working in the retail business and then moved into banking and finance where she worked for about 38 years. Pat loved to cook, sew, and read. Her world revolved around her family. She had a special gift of being able to remember everyone's birthday from close family to the extended family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her father Vernon Ray Smith of Stonewall, MS and stepfather Tommy Carrol of Enterprise, MS.

Pat is survived by her husband, Randal Mathis of Bay Springs, MS; daughter, Cherish Cotten (Glenwood) of Bay Springs, MS; son, Bradley Mathis (Roxanna) of Sharon, MS; grandchildren, Randa Wells (Tyler), Tanner Cotten, Heather Cotten, Landon Mathis, Loren Mathis, Victoria Davis (Andrew); great grandchildren Levi Wells, Carter Wells, and Ellie Davis; a loving mother, Bonnie Carroll of Enterprise, MS; sisters, Sissy Greene (Jerry) and Renae Walley (Wilson), both of Quitman, MS; brothers, Joey Smith of Philadelphia and Christopher Smith (Brandy) of Quitman, MS; a very special friend, David Traywick of Philadelphia, MS, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Lake Como Baptist Church, 2812 County Road 23, Bay Springs, MS from 1:00-3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Lake Como Baptist Church Cemetery in Bay Springs, MS. Bro. Ray Files and Bro. Paul Hand will officiate.
