Early Christmas morning, December 25, 2016, the Lord called Paul Mitchell Windham home and gave him his eternal angel wings and victory over cancer! He was 69 years old.
Paul was born to David and Fannie Mae Windham on June 23, 1947 in Bay Springs, MS. He was one of six children. On December 28, 1980 he married Cheryl Pitts Windham. Paul has been employed in the pipeline industry the majority of his career and has traveled all over the United States and parts of the world building pipelines. His work ethic was unparalleled. His commitment to doing "whatever it takes" impacted everyone around him. He finished his career at Rast Construction in Birmingham, Alabama. In his time off, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and especially watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren splashing around in the pool. He also loved watching Alabama football and playing golf.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, David. Paul is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheryl Pitts Windham, one son, Bruce, one daughter, Lori and three step-sons, Danny, Brett, and Justin Boswell. His legacy also carries on through his 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Fannie Mae and his five siblings, Max, Charles, Terry, Dale and Connie.
The family will receive family and friends two hours before the funeral which is scheduled at 2:00 pm at Colonial Chapel in Bay Springs, MS. Internment will follow at Walters Chapel cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.colonialchapelbaysprings.com
