Peggy Jewel Jones, 81 of Bay Springs passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Jasper General Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Bay Springs Cemetery. Interment will follow the graveside rites. Bro. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.

A lifelong resident of Bay Springs, Ms. Jones was a graduate of Bay Springs High School. She was a homemaker and also was employed later in life at C.B. Holder and Associates. She attended First Baptist Church of Bay Springs. Gardening and enjoying the outdoors, and fishing were favorite past times. She was a proud grandmother to her two grandsons, whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharp and Dovie Stockman, and her sister, Ora Bell Rogers.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Jones (Nora) of Bay Springs; two grandsons, August Jones and Addison Jones, and one sister, Clara Johnson of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sylva-Bay Academy or First Baptist Church of Bay Springs.
