Peggy Sue Knight, 66 of Bay Springs, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. She was born on March 4, 1958, in Jasper County.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, MS, will funeral services will be held on 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena Cemetery. Bro. Josh Chancellor will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

She was preceded in death by her father, John Thornton; brother, John David Thornton; and nephew, Michael Mealer.

Survivors include her mother, Louise Ulmer Curtis; sons, Zachary Knight (Kaycee) and Jerry McClain; daughter, Tammy Todd (Jason); sisters, Jean Mealer (Mike) and Patsy Welborn (Ricky); grandchildren, Joshua Walker, Kason Knight, Holton Knight, Hali Strength (Michael) and Hannah Blackwell (Braden); great grandchildren, Cooper Blackwell, Olivia Strength and Blake Strength, and her nieces and nephews, Christie, Ashley, and Felicia.

Pallbearers will be Jason Todd, Michael Strength, Braden Blackwell, Josh Wedgeworth, Mike Mealer, and Sawyer Graham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Valentine, Charles McDaniel, and Marcus Ulmer.
