Penny LeAnne Roberts, 61 of Louin, MS passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her residence in Louin, MS. She was born Sunday, April 29, 1962 in Talladega, Alabama.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Penny lived with her parents and her siblings in AL, New Orleans, LA, Natchez, MS, Meridian, MS and eventually in Laurel, MS, where her mother married Jim Phillips in 1975. She had grown up with a family of 13 children, Barbara and Linda Phillips were already married and not in the home. The other Phillips brothers and sisters were Patricia, Lulu, James, Betty, Winnie, Thelma, Mark and her cousin Kevin Roark. Yes that's thirteen. Jim was killed in an accident in 1978, two other siblings came with Anne's marriage later to Larry Sullivan. These all grew up together as brothers and sisters. They all attended West Laurel Baptist Church and were saved and baptized there. When Penny later married Frank Roberts, she loved and cherished his children and grand-children as her own.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilmer Albie McLeroy, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Roberts, daughter, Ashlie Taylor; grandchild, Kamryn Sullivan; mother, Annie Frieze Sullivan; brothers, Wilmer Albie McLeroy, III (Barbara) and Rory Eliott McLeroy (Melinda); Frank's, son, Jay Roberts; grand-children, Matthew Roberts, Jordan Roberts, Jaden Cole Roberts, Gracie Roberts, Gabriel Yates and Tristan Yates.
