Rachel H. McCrory, 88 of Bay Springs, MS passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs, MS. She was born Saturday, January 19, 1935 in Sylvarena, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Sylvarena Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following.  Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Raleigh.    Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements 601-764-2181.

Born at home in Sylvarena, she was a faithful and dedicated member of Sylvarena Baptist Church where she filled many roles from Head of the Nursery Department, Pre-school teacher, and Church Treasurer for many years.

She was dedicated to her work as a teller with the Bay Springs/Omni Bank (now M&P Bank).  Rachel cared for and loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchild and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Hollingsworth; father, Lace Hancock; mother, Mable Huckeby Hancock; brothers, Max Hancock and Charles Dee Hancock, Sr.; sisters, Fay Stringer and Betty James; granddaughter, Ashley Hollingsworth Deese; and great-nephew, Paul Stringer, Jr.

Survivors include her brother, Joe Hancock (Diane); sisters, Sue Brown (Paul), and Barbara Pugh (John); great grandchildren, Austin Hollingsworth and Avery Deese; brother-in-law, Billy Hill Stringer; sister-in-laws, Pellie Hancock and a very, very special sister-in-law, Janice Hancock.

Pallbearers will be John Pugh, Craig Brown, Carson Graham, Austin Hollingsworth, Skipper Landon Pugh, and Stacey Stringer.
