Richard Francis Flaherty, 86, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, January 30, 1935 in Portland, Maine.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with burial to follow. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

He was a member of the Catholic church but attended New Home Baptist. After he retired, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and worked as a security guard at G.P. Bay Springs mill. He was in the United States Navy for many years. His hobbies was wood working.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Ruth Flaherty, and other family members.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Ellion Keyes, and a host of nieces and nephews.
