Richard Morris McCluskey, 65, of Bay Springs, MS gained his angel wings Monday, November 08, 2021, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Saturday, August 11, 1956, in Pensacola, FL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs. Masonic Rites will be administered by the lodge at the end of the funeral service in the chapel. Burial will follow at 12:00 PM in the Mississippi VA Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. Bro. Bill Park will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181
Morris proudly served in the United States Navy. He loved to cook for different functions and was especially known for cooking his pancake breakfast at his church. Morris was a dedicated employee of Hol-Mac Corp for 41 years. He was a member of New Liberty Congregational Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of GWRRA Chapter L of Mississippi. Morris was a member of Sylvarena Lodge #226, F&AM, where he served as Junior Warden. He was also a member of Spencer Gilbert Chapter #65, Order of the Eastern Star, where he was serving as Worthy Patron. He was on the board for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Chapter #74, Suqualena, MS. He was very active in the American Legion, where he was serving as Commander of Post 107, Louin. He was currently State Sgt at Arms in the American Legion. And his most favorite past time was being PawPaw to Halyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Florence McBay McCluskey; brothers, Mike McCluskey and Mack McCluskey.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jo Lynn McCluskey of Bay Springs, MS; sons, Richard Wayne McCluskey and Jeffery Morris McCluskey; granddaughter, Halyn Lynn McCluskey; nephew, Alan McCluskey; niece, Elizabeth McCool.
Pallbearers will be Rory Dale Holder, Jay Dixon, Stacy Rayner, Larry "L.P." Parker, Trace Thurston, and Alan McCluskey.
Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Morrison.
