Robert Wayne Martin, 82 of Raleigh, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on Thursday, October 24, 1940, in Laurel, Mississippi.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sylvarena First Baptist Church in Sylvarena, Mississippi.

A private family memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, with Bro. Derek Burce officiating. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Mr. Robert Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He enjoyed spending time working in his yard, had a love for animals, but most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mildred Thornton Martin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Grace Rogers; brothers-in-law, Buddy Rogers and Sonny Rogers; and sister-in-law, Peggye Walters.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Mary Alice Rogers Martin of Raleigh, MS; two daughters, Robin Martin Hancock (Charles Dee) of Raleigh, MS and Rosalyn Amy Martin (Derrick Williams) of Brandon, MS; five grandchildren, Joshua Curtis Hammons (Alyssa) of Puckett, MS, Christen Alyce Hammons of Raleigh, MS, Samantha Grace Hammons of Raleigh, MS, Madison Alana Hammons of Raleigh, MS and Ella Grace Williams of Brandon, MS; two step-grandsons, Logan Hunter Hancock of Melbourne, FL and Deegan Emory Hancock of Melbourne, FL; one great-granddaughter, Emma Blakely Hutchins of Raleigh, MS; one brother, Jimmy Ray Martin of Raleigh, MS; two sisters, Rita Martin McDonald (Mike) of Raleigh, MS and Shelia Martin Collins of Raleigh, MS; one brother-in-law, Joe Rogers of Sylvarena, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.
