Robert G. Pool, 86 of Louin, passed away on March 13, 2024 at his residence. He was born on October 7, 1937 in Pontiac, Illinois.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bay Springs Methodist Church with funeral services will be held on 11:00 AM Burial will follow in Double Church Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. Rev. Robert Armstrong will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181
Bob was an avid sportsman and hunter. He was a loving father to his children. He was a great and loving companion to his wife, Elizabeth, and very devoted to his church. Bob retired from TPW railroad, and was very active in the Grotto's of North America and their philanthropy of helping children with special needs. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was past Monarch of Abbas Grotto and past President of Midwest Grotto Association. He then served as the Grand Monarch of Grottoes International. Bob was a Kentucky Colonel, and an Arkansas Traveler among other honors. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert James Pool and Ethel Salmon McLaughlin.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Scott Pool, the mother of his four children, Donna Lee Pool; daughter, Michelle Stalter (Scott); sons, Barry Pool, Gary Pool (Lisa), Jim Pool (Kim); step-son, Chris McFarland (Catalina), Eric McFarland (Erin) and Jason McFarland; brothers, Albert James "Jim" Pool (Gerrie), Phillip Pool (Barb) and Clyde Pool; sister, Cindy Pufahl (Bill); grandsons, 2nd Lt. Benjamin Reed (Molly), Austin Pool (Ashlin), A.J. Pool, Luke Stalter, Dalton McFarland, Dallas Hall (Angela); granddaughters, Stephanie Elias (Ashley), Brandi VanAtten, 2nd Lt. Sierra Pool, Terri Pash (Dylan), Haley Stevenson (Mason), Hannah Hoffman, Danielle McFarland and Lizabeth Mae McFarland; and great grandchildren, Palmer Pool, Ella Reed, Brynn Reed, Amelia Reed, Isaac Elias, Jesse Pash, Christian Pash, Lily Pash, Emma McFarland, Brynlee McFarland, Liam McFarland, Alaina Hall and Gideon Stevenson.
Pallbearers will be Gary Pool, Jim Pool, Chris McFarland, Eric McFarland, Eddie Barnett, and Joe Blakeney.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Scott, James Stanton, and Fred Dawson.
