Obituary

Funeral services for Ronald Robert "Ronnie" Hallman, age 78, and longtime resident of Smith County will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, October 5, 2026, from the Providence Lutheran Church in the Bruns community. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with funeral honors by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh.

There will also be a visitation from 9:00 am until service time on Monday at the church.

Marty Patterson will officiate and the pallbearers will be Robert Garner, Eric Clark, Chad Shows, Wayne Thompson, Paul Mullins, and Dalton Hallman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonas Bowen, Eric Johnson, Dewey Johnson, Matt Tullos, Charlie Crumpton, Kolby Burton, Judge David Shoemake and Judge Stan Sorey.

Mr. Hallman was a graduate of Burns High School and furthered his education at Jones Junior College. Professionally, he served the state of Mississippi as a Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks law enforcement officer for over forty years. After retirement, he continued serving the community with the Smith County Sherriff's Department. He was involved in the cattle industry for most of his life, and also a poultry farmer for many years. He lived a life of service, friendship, and love and the impact made will continue on after his passing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leonard and Alma Pryor Hallman and one grandson, Clay Morgan Hallman.

Survivors include his wife Zenobia Hallman of Raleigh; three children, Donnie Hallman (Andrea) of Raleigh; Gina Burton of Brandon and Robert Hallman (Jamie) of Raleigh; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh served the Hallman family.
