Ronnie Eldon Ivy, Sr., age 80, of Taylorsville passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his residence.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022 , from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Liberty Baptist Church, 2807 Hwy. 37, Raleigh. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm following the visitation at Liberty Baptist Church. Bro. Norris Ables and Bro. Kelly Tingle will officiate. Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs.
Mr. Ivy was born Thursday, February 5, 1942 and was a lifelong resident of the Mineral Springs community. He attended school at Taylorsville and was a 1960 graduate of Taylorsville High School. He was a poultry farmer by profession and welder by trade. He enjoyed doing wood working, riding around the farm, and working with his tractor. He attended Liberty Baptist Church, where he enjoyed the friendships of others, in particular the JOY Group. Family was a vital part of his life, as he supported the extra-curricular activities of his grandchildren, especially at their ballgames. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, and lived life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lois Lee Ivey and mother, Irene Blakeney Ivey.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Mrs. Geraldine Townsend Ivy; one son, Ron Ivy; two daughters, Rhonda Ford (Kevin) and Kristi Ables (Rich) all of Taylorsville; brothers, Carl Ivey (Catt) and George Ivey (Mona), both of Taylorsville; Hildred Ivey (Doris), of Ocean Springs; sisters, Jewel Atwood and Denise Phipps (Mitchell), both of Taylorsville; one grandson, Trey Ables; four granddaughters, Kaiti Ford, M'Lee Stamps (Keaton), Ashley Wagnon (Mark) and Mattie Ford; one great grandchild, Kendry Stamps and expecting the arrival of Ainsley Kate Wagnon, due in December; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Ables, Keaton Stamps, Mark Wagnon, Casey Smith, Kerry Atwood, Bryan Gable, Bruce Gable, and Jeremy Phipps.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Ivey, Carl Ivey, Hildred Ivey, the Men of Liberty Joy Group, and Mitchell Phipps.
Special music will be provided Stacey Fields and Nikki Gilpin.
