Obituary

Rose Marie Green, 95 of Bay Springs, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, with funeral services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Walters Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Green was born Monday, March 26, 1928 at Carthage to her parents, Jesse and Annie Murpy Allen. A family of eleven children, she was raised on the family farm in Leake County and was educated in the Carthage school system, where she graduated. She was a homemaker, tending to the daily responsibility of overseeing the wellbeing of her family. As referenced by her oldest granddaughter, Mrs. Green was an artist in fact, a Christian, gardener, chef, dreamer, lover, fighter, doer, seamstress, jokester, teacher, fisher, Wahoo Queen! All these things and so much more. God sure knew what He was doing when He made her. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her and her legacy will live on in the generations that follow.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Yeager, her second husband, Hubert Green; her parents, Jesse and Annie Murphy Allen; brothers, Ray Allen, Rudolph Allen, and John Allen; sisters, Infant Annie Ruth Allen, Helen Johnson and Jane Berryman.

Survivors include daughters, Patti Yeager of Bay Springs and Dot Medlock (Gary) of Belden; her sons, Robert Yeager of Wesson and David Yeager (Rhonda) of Bay Springs; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Murphy Allen (Billie Ruth) of Brandon; sisters, Bettie Mercier of Canton, Sara Panetta of Madison, Mary Rankin of Citronelle, AL and Faye Wooten of Carthage; brother-in-law, Bob Berryman of Carthage; sister-in-law, Shae Allen of Irving , TX and a a host of nieces and nephews.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
