Ruby Helen Hennington, 80 of Louin, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was born Thursday, September 13, 1945 in Jasper County.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, 22 E. 4th Avenue, Bay Springs with the funeral service following at the same location. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Keith Ulmer will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hennington was a longtime resident of Jasper County, and was a graduate of Bay Springs High School. She furthered her education at Jones Junior College and recieved her Bachelors Degree from Mississippi College in medical technology. She was a current employee for Ochsner Rush Hospital in Meridian, where she had been employed for over thirty years. She was a wonderful, fun and joyous mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family dearly and cherished every moment with her family and grandchildren. To know her, was to know true joy. She was the undeniable life of every party, her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter filled every room she entered. More than just a lively presence, she possessed a remarkable gift for making everyone around her feel loved, special, and truly heard. She was a best friend, a champion, and a trusted advisor whose guidance was sought by many. She was the true definition and example of a strong, independent woman. She was a pillar of strength, an encourager, and a source of unwavering support for her family and friends. She lived her life with a sparkle that touched everyone that she met. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, fun, and togetherness. She was a constant reminder that life was supposed to be enjoyed not just lived. Friends and family will forever remember her for her laughter, her giving heart, and her ability to make ordinary moments unforgettable. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by her presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Hennington; father, Fred Monroe Bishop; mother, Velma Phillips Bishop; brother, Willard Bishop; sister, Dimple Hemphill.
Survivors include her son, Joe Hennington (Amy) of Union; sister, Rene Hennington of Lake Eddens; grandchildren, Tiffany Comans (Dusty), Jessie Taylor (Cody), Walker Hennington and Hunter Hennington; great grandchildren, Maddex Ferguson, Eva Kate Taylor, Mack Henry Ferguson, Rivers Taylor, and Cruze Comans; several nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Fred Hennington, Matt Hennington, Billy Gray, Marcus Evans, Marcus Ulmer, Tracy Wright, and Ted Hennington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Hunter Hennington, Walker Hennington, and Maddex Ferguson.
