Funeral services for Ruby Doris Matthews will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from the Jesus Name House of Prayer, with burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs.

Visitation will be from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the church, located on Highway 18, Raleigh, Miss.

Ruby Doris Matthews, 80, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, February 6, 2023. Ruby was born on June 1, 1942, in Smith County, Mississippi and was the oldest of four children.

Ruby never had biological children, but she had the heart and soul of a mother and grandmother. She loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and grandchildren.  Ruby was a member of Jesus Name House of Prayer and loved her church family.

She is survived by her sisters Peggy Craft (Rudolph) and Anita Grant.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Matthews, father Elton Russell, mother Nellie Russell, and brother Rexell Russell.
