Ruth "Fluffy" James, 72, of Sylvarena, MS, died peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was born Wednesday, April 17, 1946 in Smith County, MS. She was a long standing member of the Sylvarena community with ties to Sylvarena Baptist Church, Double Church, and New Liberty Congregational Methodist Church.

Fluffy was the daughter of the late Grady and Mary James of Sylvarena.  Her sisters are the late Bobbye Lee Moss (Lamar), the late infant sister, Mary Jo James, Joan Ishee (Alton) and LaDonn Nelson (Charlie).  She is also survived by her brother, John Phillip James (Maria). She has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews along with many beloved friends.  Fluffy loved her family, travel, and storytelling. She was ready to go at the drop of a hat and lived life to the fullest.

Pallbearers will be Joe Moss, Jeff Moss, Dustin James, Ben James, Brenton Moss, Mike Ishee and Beaver Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Sylvarena Baptist Church in Sylvarena, MS with graveside services following at 11:00 AM at the Bethany Cemetery.  Bro. Bobby Hood and Bro. Rusty Stockman will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, MS is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181
