Shirley J. Collins, 82, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, passed away, Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Jasper County Nursing Home. She was born Monday, February 28, 1938 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 12:00 PM at Bay Springs City Cemetery. Bro. Marty Wilson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

Shirley loved to play golf, tennis, and travel. She was a homemaker but also assisted her husband in his Optometric Practice. Shirley was an active member of Bay Springs Baptist Church since 1968.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charlie Collins; parents, Bud & Hattie Blackwell; son, Jonathan Brian Collins; god-son, Read Bush; Yaya sister, Jane McCurdy Massey.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. C. Chris Collins (Teresa) and Philip Wesley Collins (Melissa); grandchildren, Jonathan Clinton Collins (Ashley), Jessica Joy Herrington (Ricky), Philip Casey Collins (Hailey), Christa Beasnett, Philip Beasnett, and Dr. Mary Hardy (Paul); ten Great-grandchildren; god-daughters, Nichole Bush Kelly (Kevin) and Sonia Bush Scoggins (Robert); nephew, Ralph Barber; niece, Penny Barber; Yaya sister, Louise Bush Wynn and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Clinton Collins, Philip Casey Collins, Philip Beasnett, Robert Scoggins, Reggie Thornton, and Ricky Herrington.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church, 43 Hwy 528 Bay Springs, MS 39422
