Shirley Dean Nix, 72, of Louin, Mississippi, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. She was born Sunday, December 8, 1946 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Montrose Baptist Church in Louin, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Montrose Baptist Church and the Burial will follow in Montrose Cemetery. Bro. Jim Savell and Bro. Stanley Doggett will officiate. Shirley was a member of Montrose Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lived for rescuing stray animals and loved all things nature, especially birds. Enjoyed tending to her flowers indoors and out. Relished visits from her boys and their families. Exceptional fisherman and hunter. Could cook anything without recipe, even if brought in from a hunt or fishing trip. She will be truly missed, but always remembered and cherished. Shirley, Mom, Nanny, WE LOVE YOU!

She was preceded in death by her parents, JD and Ethel Mary Ann Gregory, brother, Robert Gregory, sister, Joyce Moss.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Edward Nix, sons, James Earl Nix (Laura), Paul Gregory Nix (Amy), grandchildren, James Michael Nix, Heather Lynn Nix, Hunter Paul Nix, Gregory Paul Nix, Hayden Paul Nix, sisters, Bonnie Jean Towler, Gail Williams.

Pallbearers will be James Earl Nix, Paul Gregory Nix, James Michael Nix, Gregory Paul Nix, Hunter Paul Nix, Hayden Paul Nix.
