Thomas Eugene Windham, 87, of Bay Springs, MS, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs. He was born Friday, September 4, 1936, in Antioch, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, MS with funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Bay Springs City Cemetery in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Rev. Robert Armstrong and Rev. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181
Following completion from Bay Springs High School, Thomas married the love of his life, Regenia, in 1956. Then in 1957, they welcomed their first daughter, Donna. He worked at NECO for 6 years before opening his own Shell full-service station. In 1973, they welcomed their second daughter, Chastity. Shortly after closing his service station, he began his career in the oilfield, where he worked for the next 37 years. After retirement, he returned to his love of farming, where he could often be found on the tractor or admiring his cows. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, and old western movies, Randolph Scott being his favorite. Thomas was a people person, where he never met a stranger and loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Regenia Aycock Windham; his parents, Clyde Thomas Windham, and Vivian Cook Windham; his brothers, Webster Windham and Neil Windham and his sister, Bobbye Jones.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Hammons (Mickey) and Chastity Windham; his sister, Dot Pugh; his granddaughters, Heather Hill (Doug) and Christina Misita (Blaine); his great granddaughters, Ashley Duckworth (Mason) and Dallas Misita; and his great-great grandson, Westyn Duckworth.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Cook, Jamie Chisholm, Nick McNeil, J.B. Harris, Sam Sumrall, and Bill Sumrall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Rayner, Bo Stockman, Ed McNeil, and Hugh Bergin.
