Thurman Billy Joe Ainsworth, 90, of Bay Springs , Mississippi, died Monday at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Saturday, March 15, 1930 , in Smith County , Mississippi.

Visitation will be held for family members on Wednesday , October 14, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs with funeral services immediately following in the chapel . Billy Joe will be remembered a person that enjoyed telling stories about Bay Springs.  He owned a salvage yard outside of town.  He was one that was always willing to lend a hand to others, sharing his faith and also a great father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joey and Evelean Ainsworth ; son, Graylon Ainsworth; sisters, Examae Bykowski , Burl Wintter , and Shirley Page; brothers, R.L. Ainsworth and J.D. Ainsworth.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Welborn (Edward); grandsons, Chris McCullough (Jamie) and Eric McCullough ; great-grandchildren, Gracie McCullough and Tristan McCullough.
