Tommie Jo Stringer, 68, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, Passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, November 20, 1952 in Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Lake Como Baptist Church in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Lake Como Baptist Church with burial to follow. Bro. Dave Moran and Bro. Paul Hand will officiate. Tommie was married 51 wonderful years to Kenneth "Kenny" Stringer also of Bay Springs. Together they had 3 sons; Shawn, Jason, and Jacob. They were both members of Lake Como Baptist Church where Tommie ministered to others in many different ways throughout the years. Tommie loved her family and her church dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Merkel and Ruby McCarty Vanderslice.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Ray Stringer, sons, Shawn Stringer, Jason Stringer (Jessica), Jacob Stringer (Lara), grandchildren, Colby Stringer, Jonah Stringer, Jaylen Stringer, Savannah Stringer, Madalyn Stringer, Syla Stringer, brothers, Bill Bryant (Cindy), Mikel Vanderslice and a host of nieces, nephews and church family.

Pallbearers will be Colby Stringer, Jonah Stringer, Chad Stringer, Wil Bean, Wesley Walker, and Kevin Stringer.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Deaconess Hospice for taking excellent care of Tommie as well as the family and the nurses and doctors at South Central Cancer Center.
