Velda Rhea Walley, 85 of Rose Hill, MS passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was born Tuesday, January 5, 1937, in Jasper County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs, MS. Burial will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rose Hill, MS. Pastor Patti Robinson will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Naomi Bankston Walley, brothers, O. V. Walley, Clevis Walley and Jerry Walley, sisters, Ernestine Rayner, Bonnie Dean Stewart.

Survivors include her daughters, Ida M. Kennedy (Bill), Nadine Brown, grandchildren, William Deason (Leigh Anne), Tosha Kimble, Christina Alexander (Justin), Sheree Sheffield, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Randall Walley (Gloria), Rassie Walley (Laura), sisters, Glenda Walley, Linda Carrol (Tony), Sue Walley, sister-in-law, Faye Walley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be William Deason, Sheree Sheffield, Tosha Kimble, Christina Alexander, Tyler Alexander, and Dezmen Kimble.
