Velma Odom Knotts, 95, of Bay Springs, MS, passed away on September 8, 2020. Velma was born on December 16, 1924, in Bay Springs.

Velma was a true artist and she had an amazing imagination. She would paint on anything: canvas, wood, rocks. Many homes are decorated with her beautiful paintings. She enjoyed making crocheted hats for the children at Blair Batson Children's Hospital.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Joseph Knotts; Daughter, Dorothy Dell Clark, and great-great granddaughter, Isabella Nicole Martin; her parents, Claude and Lessie Odom.

Velma is survived by 2 sons, Sidney Joseph Knotts, Jr. (Judy) and James Allen Knotts (Janet); 3 daughters, Linda Nell Rayborn (Rodney), Virginia Carol Buckley (Dennis Montgomery), and Deanna Lynn Cornish (Ben).

She adored her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A private family visitation and funeral will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 8:30 AM until 9:00 AM at Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs. Burial will follow in the Bay Springs City Cemetery.
