George Vinson McNeil, 79 of Raleigh, MS passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his residence in Raleigh, MS. He was born Tuesday, February 22, 1944, in Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at First Baptist Church in Raleigh, MS. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church in Raleigh, MS. Burial will follow in North Raleigh Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. Bro. Danny Dickerson and Bro. Billy Thornton will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements. 6017642181

George was a member of First Baptist Church of Raleigh for 58 years and was a deacon for 25 of those years.

He was preceded in death by his father, George A. McNeil; mother, Pauline Sykes McNeil; brother, Mitchell McNeil; sister, Margaret McNeil.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Gaye Thornton McNeil; sons, Geoffrey McNeil and Stacey McNeil (Lynnette);  grandchildren, Tyler McNeil (Aubrey), Amree McNeil Herrmann and Thornton McNeil;  brother, Edison McNeil (Janet);  sisters, Kathy Pugh (Randy), Cindy Bass (Carey);  grandchildren, Tyler McNeil (Aubrey), Amree McNeil Herrmann and Thornton McNeil;  sister-in-law, Linda Townsend.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Bass, Gary Thornton, Nick McNeil, Chris McNeil, Jamie Pugh, and Tyler McNeil.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church.
