Obituary

Willa Dean Boyd, 87, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2021, in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Friday, November 10, 1933 in Stringer, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs with burial to follow in Bay Springs City Cemetery. Bro. James Sprayberry and Bro. Johnny Robertson will officiate.

Dean was a beloved wife, mother, and Mamaw.  She loved family gatherings and going on trips with her church family at First Baptist Church in Bay Springs.  She specially loved being with her siblings and friends going out to eat and visiting.  Dean worked at NECO for almost 30 years.  She loved cooking, gardening, and being on the go!  She was the best Mamaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren making sure to attend all of their activities.

She was preceded in death by husband, Roosevelt Boyd; parents, Earl and Virgie Myrick; brothers, Curtis Myrick and Ray Gerald Myrick; sister, Janice Welch.

Survivors include her children, Tommy Boyd (Sylvia), Mark Boyd (Diane), Kay Sims (Don), Brenda Robertson (Johnny); grandchildren, Charlie Robertson (Miranda), Shanna Parker (Thomas), Matt Sims (Brittany), William Boyd (Cheryl), Cindi Ahl (Luke), Adam Boyd, Haden Boyd, and Summer Boyd; great-grandchildren, Logan Parker, Carson Parker, Jayce Ahl, Ayden Ahl, Konnr Ahl, Cam Boyd, Sophie Boyd, Easton Robertson, Lawson Parker, Maddie Sims, Barrett Sims, and Paris Ahl; brothers, Kent Myrick (Bobbie) and Pete Myrick (Pat); sisters, Bobbie Jean Rayner, Nell Lucas, and Diane McKinley (John); JoAnn Boyd.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Robertson, Matt Sims, William Boyd, Haden Boyd, Logan Parker, and Carson Parker.
