Obituary

William Julius "Bud" Anding, Sr., age 86, and a resident of Raleigh, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, and one hour prior to the services on Sunday.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery in Smith County.

A native of Smith County, Mr. Anding was born at the family homeplace on Sunday, June 7, 1936. Mr. Anding was a retired road foreman with the Mississippi Department of Transortation and a member of the Bay Springs Church of Christ. He was an avid deer hunter as long as his health permitted, and loved his special canine, Mavrick.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dora Bastin Anding;  parents, Odis and Edna Thompson Anding;  brothers, Truitt Anding, June Anding, and Daniel Anding; and sister, Anna Lou Glenn.

Survivors include his son, Billy Anding of Raleigh;  daughter, Carolyn Palmer (Steven) of Raleigh;  brother, Colon Anding (Joanne) of Sylvarena;  sister, Faye Kennedy of Flowood; several nieces and nephews also survive.
