William (Bill) Evermont Newbury, 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 28. He was born on March 23, 1958, in Laurel, MS.

He graduated from Heidelberg Academy in 1976. He continued his education at JCJC and then graduated from diesel mechanic school in Nashville, TN. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years and finished his career as a machinist at Hol-Mac. He and his wife, Sue, were owners of Bayless Restaurant.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Newbury and his sister Beth Herrington.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; his son Eric, his sister, Lucile (Rodney) Zeagler; his brother, Joe Newbury. His granddaughter Maddy; and his great-granddaughter, Kaylee.  He is also survived by special nephew, Joshua Knotts and niece, Amanda Hare along with many other nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Reverend James Sprayberry will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Knotts, Donnie Ray Haigler, Blake Haigler, Jonathan Knotts, Thomas Ratcliff and Dale Phillips.
